Join Miami-Dade County Parks to Celebrate Crandon Park’s 75th Anniversary

Join the Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department for the Crandon Park 75th Jubilee Celebration featuring an eco-festival on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 19 and 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Crandon Gardens, 6747 Crandon Blvd., Key Biscayne. Event admission is free. Metered parking is available for guests.

This two-day eco-festival will highlight Parks’ involvement in creating a sustainable and resilient future. Nature enthusiasts will enjoy a day out with family and friends and see a historic Miami-Dade County landmark. The jubilee commemorates Miami-Dade County’s Crandon Park’s 75 years of serving the community’s 2.8 million residents. Crandon Park is a Miami-Dade County Heritage Park that represents the ecological history of the county.

Enjoy a host of fun and engaging, eco-focused recreation activities led by Miami-Dade Parks and partners. Acvitities include: 

  • A beach clean-up on Saturday morning
  • Walking tours of Crandon Gardens
  • Music performances
  • A beer and wine garden
  • Food for purchase
  • A vendors’ market
  • A fun zone with a variety of games
  • Outdoor eco-inspired art installations
  • Educational displays and demonstrations

Guests will also have the option to participate in a variety of expert-led interactive workshops, free of charge. Workshop sessions will include:

  • Fruit & Spice Park – Flower to Fruit
  • Fairchild Gardens’ Million Orchid Project – Native Orchid Planting
  • UF/IFAS – Rain Barrel/Water Conservation
  • Sketch It Studio – Landscape Sketching

Outdoor Exhibition of Eco Art

Crandon Park 75th Jubilee Celebration will open its inaugural juried outdoor exhibition of nature-inspiring eco-art at Crandon Gardens. As part of Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation & Open Spaces mission to create outstanding Recreational, Natural, and Cultural Experiences to enrich the community, the department is calling for applications for the opportunity to be featured within Crandon Park’s Botanical Gardens – Crandon Gardens.

Artists, designers, landscape design architects (professionals and students) are invited to design interventions for a temporary outdoor installation. We ask all entrants to recognize the plants, animals, and eco-systems found within the Miami-Dade transect of their choice through an art-based graphic. Interested parties are invited to register to apply free of charge here. After registering, applications must be submitted via email.
