After shutting out the reigning national champions sophomore goalkeeper, Grace McClellan was named NAIA National Defensive Player of the Week honors, announced by the league office Tuesday afternoon.

  • The award marks the first NAIA weekly honor of McClellan’s career.
  • McClellan was named the Sun Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
  • The sophomore earned her third solo shutout of the season against No. 1 Tennessee Southern, tallying six saves in the contest.
  • She has started every game of the Seahawks’ record-breaking season by not allowing a goal through four games.
