Support for the DIGNITY Act (H.R.4393) has grown, with more than 75 organizations now endorsing the legislation. The endorsements come from a variety of sectors, including faith groups, businesses, national security organizations, and civic associations. These supporters include faith leaders, employers, veterans, farmers, builders, manufacturers, healthcare professionals, seniors, universities, and community organizations.
Last week in Washington D.C., several senior pastors visited the U.S. Capitol to advocate for the bill and share the views of faith communities on immigration reform. Business groups such as the National Association of Manufacturers have also recently announced their support for the legislation.
Supporters from different backgrounds are calling for changes to the current immigration system. “The momentum behind the DIGNITY Act shows that Americans are ready to finally fix our immigration system,” said Rep. Salazar. “Faith leaders, workers, businesses, and the American public all see the same reality: the current system isn’t working. Congress now has a serious, workable proposal on the table, and it’s time to act.”
