During an inspection on December 19, 2024, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued two citations to Copinol Enterprises, Inc. in Miami for concerns involving foodborne biological hazards, according to data posted on the FDA’s website.
The FDA website indicates that the citations were delivered to the company as follows:
- ‘You did not determine and document the frequency of conducting the verification activities to provide adequate assurances that a food you obtain from a foreign supplier is produced in compliance with processes and procedures that provide the required level of public health protection.’
- ‘You did not conduct and document or obtain documentation of one or more supplier verification activities before importing the food into the United States and periodically after importing the food into the United States.’
The FDA routinely inspects facilities across the nation to determine if the workplace and their products are compliant with FDA-regulated laws and regulations implemented to improve overall public health. Inspection results are then disclosed publicly.
According to its website, the FDA is a government agency that is primarily responsible for monitoring the production and distribution of human and animal drugs, biological products, medical supplies and tobacco products for safety and quality.
