Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, along with Miami Police and local volunteers, took part in the holiday tradition of “shopping with the Mayor.” This annual event allows a select group of kids to use a $100 gift card at Target to purchase toys, clothes, or any item on their Christmas wish list.
“I’m humbled to spend time with these children and their families who unfortunately struggle this time of year to make the holiday season a joyous occasion,” said Mayor Francis Suarez. “Seeing the smiles on the kids’ faces is the best gift for me.”
This year, thirty children were chosen from every city district to participate in the holiday shopping event. The event took place from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at the Target Midtown Store on N. Miami Ave in Miami.
